Do I have to give up my small business if I declare bankruptcy?

People who own businesses are in a more complex area of bankruptcy and will greatly benefit from engaging an attorney to help them. The simple answer is that no, you do not have to give up your small business. In particular, if you run a home-based business or a business that depends almost entirely on your efforts (and could not easily be sold to anyone), the chances are that the trustee will not be interested in it, and you can keep your small business. But circumstances do vary, in particular if your business owns valuable inventory that could be sold in an auction.
